Bouchard's Second Goal Lifts Edmonton to Victory

McDavid Scores in Second Overtime to Seal Game 1 Win

DALLAS (AP) - Evan Bouchard's second goal of the game lifted the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-3 overtime win over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final on Thursday night at American Airlines Center.

With the game tied 3-3 in the second overtime, Bouchard took a pass from Connor McDavid and fired a wrist shot past Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger for the game-winning goal.

McDavid also scored for the Oilers, while Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman each had a goal and an assist. Oettinger made 36 saves for the Stars, who were outshot by the Oilers 40-39.

The Oilers took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Draisaitl and Hyman, but the Stars came back to tie the game in the second period on goals by Jamie Benn and Roope Hintz.

Bouchard gave the Oilers a 3-2 lead in the third period, but the Stars tied it again late in the period on a goal by Jason Robertson.

The series continues with Game 2 in Dallas on Saturday night.
