Haney Retains WBC Super Lightweight Title

In a highly anticipated grudge match, WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) defeated Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) by unanimous decision on Saturday, April 20, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight was for the WBC super lightweight title and lived up to its billing, with both fighters trading heavy blows throughout the contest.
Haney started strong, landing several clean shots in the early rounds. Garcia fought back in the middle rounds, but Haney was able to regain control of the fight in the later rounds. The judges scored the fight 118-110, 117-111, and 116-112 in favor of Haney.
