The tournament features the teams that finished 7th through 10th in each conference during the regular season. The teams are seeded 7-10 based on their regular season records. The 7th and 8th seeds in each conference receive a bye to the second round, while the 9th and 10th seeds must face off in a single-elimination game. The winners of the first round games then face off against the 7th and 8th seeds in each conference in a single-elimination game to determine the final two teams to qualify for the playoffs.
